True, But UNC won 10+ games 3 of 5 seasons from 1993-1997, so they were really good in the area. Florida was obviously dominant along with FSU. And while Alabama obviously wasn't what they are now, they did win a national title in 1992, 5 divisions titles, and 2 SEC titles in the 90s. Everyone recruits nationally now regardless so much more than they did in the 1990s, so I think geographics probably matter a lot less now than they did then. If Clemson can build what they have being surrounded by the programs they are, there's no reason to think Tennessee can't. The better question is will it happen? The odds aren't exactly great right now

Clemson isn’t in the SEC with a fixed schedule of UGa, Bama, Florida annually.
