Look, of course Alabama’s machine is sustained more if they win rather than lose. But they can’t take all the gravy, the rules simply do not allow it.
In the last 20 years, the SEC has had 5 different teams vying for the national championship and 4 different winners.
It just so happens that one of those teams is historically calibrated above the others in terms of total national championships. But in terms of recent history (last 20 years), Alabama is the tallest among very, very tall SEC competitors.
How anyone could argue that the success of Alabama hurts the conference just doesn’t comport with the results.
Go ask the Big 12 if they wouldn’t mind OU or TX garnering a string of national championships, as opposed to being wannabes...
