I don't know that he's washed up but I do think he's very Les Miles-esque in that he can bring the recruits in and outtalent some teams, but struggles to beat good teams because of his offensive approach.
And there absolutely were some issues at FSU, last three seasons were 10-3, 10-3, and 7-5 in the weak ACC despite pulling top 5 recruiting classes.

He left that program in very rough shape leaving, there is no disputing that. I don't know between the divorce and his sick kid if that contributed but he obviously was checked out for a bit before leaving.
He obviously is a very good coach and seems to be happy at A&M. (obviously loving his paycheck lol). Jimbo has done a very good job so far. They have gotten better each year.
