Using your logic shouldn't we be expanding to 16-32 teams?

What? I was giving CLEAR example of other leagues and somehow that turns into me advocating for a 32 team playoff?

Unbelievable and if you're trying make an arguement for the "uniqueness" of the CFB reg season, that ship set sail the day Bama got the playoff nod without winning their division.Sorry, the can of worms was opened that day.

You didn't answer the question. Has one been left out that people thought..."wow they would have won it all if they had been in it

Wow,so you're able to go back in time and answer a hypothetical?

Speaking of not answering questions, how bout my question about wanting to see UGA play Bama again or Clemson if we finished 8th?Are you telling me you wouldn't want to see that matchup or it wouldn't be
competitive?

quote:

Crap no. What dfference would it make? All you would have are some NY6 games only they wouldn't be as good.

What? BTW, its gonna happen so get ready for it.

quote:

1-8 Alabama vs. Cincinnatti
2-7 Clemson vs. Florida
3-6 OSU vs. Oklahoma
4-5 ND-Texas A&M

Three of those would be blowouts

I would love to see 3 of those and how in world do you know OSU vs OU or UF vs CU would be "blowouts?"

I don't and I you don't either

Quick yes or no:

Were you in favor of the BCS when it first came out?

How bout the CFB playoff when they first came out?

Reasons if you were in favor of either?

Were you not saying that we should expand because those other leagues had expanded?
1. Why should we just because other leagues do. And if you are going down that road then you might as well take it to its logical conclusion.
Just because high schools or lower divisions or basketball or anybody else has more/bigger playoffs it does not follow that major college football should, too.

If no worthy team has been lef tout after 7 seasons why would we want to expand? might a team get missed one year? yes. it's possible. but we shouldn't just change based off your hypothetical.

I have already said I think it will happen in the next year or two, so I'm not sure what your point is.

6 of the last 7 years there have been blow outs in the semis. you water down the competition more and you don't suddenly get better games.

I liked the BCS okay. I thought it would improve some things and it did, imo.

I was for them. And still am. I wish they would go by the BCS standings to pick the teams, though, although they probably wouldn't change much.

Because I felt there was an argument for 3 teams in any given year that was good enough to win a title. There has been only one year in which the 4th team has done well enough to play. Alabama in 2017.
In every other year the #4 team got blown out.
