It's certainly a cause for concern.
I do think this year is particularly bad simply because players have "COVID fatigue". The constant testing, the berating by whomever is handling contact tracing, sequestration, taking classes remotely, and on and on have made playing this season less fun. Another few weeks for a meaningless bowl game and a chance at injury just doesn't seem worth it to many...and I can't really blame them this year.

Agree but I really don't think it changes any of the big name opt outs.We had ton in '18 and '19 and if looks the same this year.
