Division winners from ACC, b10 , pac and SEC plus top two big12 teams = 10
American winner plus SBC winner = 12.
Just have the cfp sponsor conference title games as a first round playoff series. ND & BYU have to find a conference to be affiliated with. This independent stuff is ridiculous. BYU can be a part time member of the PAC or big12. Seems doable.

So, in 2019, 8-4 Virginia, 10-3 Wisconsin, and 11-2 Utah go to your playoffs.
Why do you want to take the two best teams from the Big 12, but not the other conferences?
