I really don't think it was an accident Vandy never scored or got in field goal range

I have zero doubt...and the whole thing contributed to coach being fired during the season. There is no doubt that Mason lost the team with this decision and furthered that loss when old gal made a speech and wasnt told to sit down and shut the frick up...and sealed the deal by having her squib kick, raising the question if she had the ability to do anything else???

The media played this up like Jackie Robinson being called up. Imagine had Robinson been called up, having never played baseball, and proceeded to hold a locker room conference calling out his team mates for their lack of spirit in the dugout. I would posit that the Jackie Robinson story would have had a less happy ending.....

To be honest I was supprtive of the call by Vandy. I dont doubt there are women who are as physical as most place kickers....many male PKs aint exactly studs....but when I saw the kick I immediately thought "WHY????" and then when I read HER account of the locker room speech I immediately though of the C word.....harsh, I know, but the level of arrogance that SHE recounted, on herself, is unimaginable....

Seriously was anybody else thinking “why would VANDERBILT fire a coach during the season just for losing games?” Mason was in his 7th season. Firing him this late in the season just because his team is bad doesn’t pass the smell test. Maybe getting a head start on the coaching search is a bigger deal than it used to be.

I don't believe this was Mason's call. I believe this came from above him.
