My argument is that saying no hc experience in and of itself isn't a valid argument against beamer.

But Beamer doesn't even have OC experience.

The best position he's had is Assistant HC, which is basically just Assistant to the Regional Manager.

He could be an awesome coach, but there is too much unknown and a risk for us to take at this point IMO.

ETA: I will say that I'd feel much better about hiring Beamer than I would for the likes of McElwain or some other proven failure. Just hope it doesn't come to that.

That's true and there is precedent of those having been successful, albeit fairly rare. John harbaugh, Dabo and to a certain extent orgeron.

Beamer would absolutely be a more difficult interview bc he'd have to convince me of who he'd get to coordinate, why those guys and how realistic it is to get them. He doesn't have the track record to put people at ease.

To your point about AHC.... the question does remain... why would riley whos been successful at a storied program be willing to give beamer that title when he's really only been a TE/ST coach? There's def a skillset there

That sounds familiar, Dabo, Pittman, Oregeron, Meyer etc
