I was told on another forum that Kirby teaches them not to turn their head but to "stay in phase" and play the man? Is that really true? And if so, how the hell is that effective? And, PI will be called most every time if you don't turn your head.

I can only assume they also teach them to read the receiver and get your hands on his hands as the ball appears to come in. The advantage is you typically stay closer to the receiver so you can disrupt the catch. Downside is you are more susceptible to PI and accurate passers.

Again, if you are playing pressure man and are not getting pressure on the QB, your chances of success are diminished. The root cause of both of our losses this year have been not getting defensive pressure. You can blame the QB and there is blame to be carried by the QB. but realistically, our offense is not going to light it up this year. Still, we had a 14 point lead and then Florida went on a rampage with mainly easy passes due to picking us in man and having the ability to wait for the picks to develop in a clean pocket with plenty of passing lanes. We adjusted to them in the 2nd half and they scored 6 points.

Watch Campbell go from CB to All Pro at safety in the NFL.

So it took Kirby a full half of football to adjust to something that seems pretty obvious?
