I played basketball with him several years ago. Everything he did was just effortless and smooth.

Funny story, I used to work with his best friend from HS at a local golf course. Matt and his buddies would come play at least once a week. I ran the beer cart for the weekly scrambles. Once I made the rounds for that I would head over to Matt's group and give them some cold beer.

He was always a genuinely nice guy, just had some unfortunate events that ended his NFL career. I still believe he should have gotten another chance.
