College football is an awful product...
There are 3-5 teams playing a different game than everyone else...Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State are just different...when the stars align right LSU and maybe Georgia is allowed to play...everybody else is dead meat...
Somewhat true. Right now, today.
But none of those 3 teams has been as consistent every year so far this millennium as Oklahoma, Boise State, and Louisiana State have.
CFB goes through waves of progression and transgression with different teams and conferences.
I think some emerging programs include Minnesota, Utah, K-State, West Va., TCU, Baylor, BYU, Colorado and Missouri.
Along with perennial contenders (in addition to the 6 ones mentioned at the top of this post): USC, Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas A&M, Georgia, Florida, and comeback powers like Miami, Texas, Fla. St, Syracuse, Tennessee, etc.
I have hope for more variety and equal footing soon.

I'll give you Boise State. Ohio State even has the 6-7 Fickell year in there.

Ohio State has been a top 5 football team every year since 2000 LOL.
P.S. We don't count the Fickell year.
