I do agree with the spirit of this. The way penalties are called to almost always favor the offense, the QB needs to throw to the playmaker downfield, even if he's covered, and let him fight for the ball. He either catches it, or gets a flag drawn. Maybe it's intercepted but the fact is that Pickens is a better receiver and overall athlete than 99% of any defender covering him, and he's not going to let the ball get taken away in a fight for it. And if it does get intercepted, at least it's way the frick down field and amounts to a punt.

Pickens is a great athlete, he needs to run better routes. That’s the difference between him and the 1%
