The most salient point the writer made was regarding how Bama and Saban gameplan. Saban and that Bama offense literally won that game by relying on their 3 best players....Harris (31-152), Smith (11-167), and Waddle (6-161). 480yds of total offense from the three best players on that team. Their TOTAL offense was 564yds, so 85% of their total offense went through those three top players.

Which also means that 11 players on our vaunted "elite" defense couldn't handle 3 guys, so maybe our offense wasn't entirely the problem.

Kirby needs to either stop making promises to recruits about playing time

Then a lot of top recruits might not come, and he'll get crucified for not doing whatever it takes to get them.

or he needs to do a better job of identifying the top 3-4 players on the team and ride them to victories.

That assumes that those top 3-4 players can carry the team to win after win. They have to be in the right positions to do it. Bama happens to have an incredible set of receivers, so they'll score on just about anybody.

I mean, who has watched every game this season and thought, "wow, sure am glad that Zeus and midget boy Cook are getting more carries than KennyMc and Milton!"?

Except that just about everyone was hailing Zeus and Cook as the guys who we'd ride to a national title up until the first game of this season. So fan expectation wildly missed the mark, as is pretty common.

Has no one mentioned that Milton was dinged up all summer and fall and McIntosh is dinged up right now?

They are not finished products. They are getting better each week.

They were? On here? News to me.

I saw some folks on here touting Zues but certainly not Cook and I
thought both played well vs Bama.

Not many on here thought we had NC offense after Newman opted
out and then Blalock's injury but we certainly have enough pieces to win the east and compete with Bama for a conference title.
