“Great win. League is tough. Arkansas played hard. It was a physical game.”

Press: Are you sure we should play for the FG most of the time?

Gus: “No doubt. Anders is one of the best kickers in college football. Got to call plays to get him on the field.”

Press: it looked like Tank had the hot hand. Are you sure taking him out of the flow was best for the offense?

Gus: “No doubt. Felt like DJ could give them the gimp leg and break a few.”

Press: it looked like a well coached team almost upset an overrated team from my seat. How many more years do you need to build consistency?

Gus: “Everything is being reviewed. Staff changes may need to be made after season. We are in the middle of it. Going to work tomorrow. Got to play faster with pace and be more physical.”

"I think Chad called a great game offensively. We really established the run. That was a goal after last week. Considering the weather and all of our injuries, it was a great team win. We still have a lot to play for and all that goes along with that. No doubt. Me and Chad are headed to Waffle House to celebrate with some bacon (awkward laughter)."

What happened with Bo Nix’s spike?

Yeah, I guess they were saying he fumbled the snap and then got it and then spiked it. It’s what they said.
Gus Malzahn, ladies and gentlemen.

Today he straight up said "we have three games under our belt and know what we have..."

We need to schedule sissy teams at the beginning of the year for the first four games apparently.

What happened to the run game in the second half?

Yeah, I’ll have to look at it on film. But you’re exactly right, I think we had 200 yards rushing in the first half. We had 50 or so in the second half. Give them credit, but at the same time, we’ll have to look at it on film.

This motherfricker is going to push me to drinking again!

I finically understand the why regarding the contract.

Liquor/beer sales go up with Gus in charge because people self medicate to alleviate the feelings Gus’s whirlybird and inside zone calls induce.
