When we come out on the first possession and go down the field to score, I dont get too excited. After all we have had an entire week to study film, their weakness against our strength. I wait to see what happens of the second possession, do they adjust....and can we counter those adjustments.

But when we come out and look totally confused on the first possession and continue to shat the bed, I know its gonna be a long day.

Im hoping today looks like a Borges gameplan, not the latter. I believe it....at least til about 8pm.

It has been the only time we score in Athens, as of late.

Even Kirby has said publicly that Gus is one of the best at scripting the first series. I'm hoping he and Chad can come up with some great schemes to keep UGA on their toes most of the game

I dont even remember who we were playing but it was several years ago. We called a couple of quick outs and they both worked. We didnt go back to the play.

Then, late in the 3rd when we needed a first we ran it again...but we didnt, it was a hitch and go, the corner bit, the safety came flying in with visions of himself on the ESPN highlight reel (which he was for all the wrong reasons) and we were wide open.

Now that is adjusting to their adjustments, beautiful play call.

Im betting they will come in very aggressive on D. Ill grant you one or two of those floaters Nix threw last weekend would be ints today, by the same token, some of their DB aggressive plays may see balls sailing right over their heads for TDs.

Just hoping for good play calls and adjustments if things arent working, something we did last week, and boy was it refreshing.

Typically the offense has two scripts to start. Because of the technical aspects of today's game, the offensive coordinator has the sheet. If you receive the kickoff and get a good return the script starts that takes advantage of that field position. If you have a bad return pinning you behind the 20 there is another script. If you do not receive the kickoff ....the script goes by the position on the field after the opponent punts. When I played, on Thursday, I was handed both scripts. I had to have each memorized and ready to go when we stepped on the field. Our QB Coach (West Point) would mirror me during warm ups and ask Script one .... 1-3 or script two 1-3 expecting me to recite each without hesitation. Now, Nix is told the first play before he leaves the sideline. At that point the sideline signals every play in based on the whims of the Coordinator.
