Everyone here watched the game. Many of us watched most of it multiple times.

Mathis didn't set the world on fire and Stetson definitely has his advantages, but your made-up narrative is worse than useless.

Since when are you privy to private conversation between coaches and players? Stetson may very well believe he should be the starter, but he could believe that completely independent of any conjured Kirby promises you decided to hocus-pocus out of thin air.

You're obviously entitled to your opinion. My opinion, though, is that kind of talk is poisonous.

That hit changed Mathis. He probably got inside his own head. I don’t think he was playing THAT bad before that hit, the penalties taking back yardage after so many good plays was a mental frick as well. I’m gonna still predict Mathis starts Saturday, but I’ll back Kirby in whatever he thinks
