I know where Highland is, beautiful area with the trees etc. Been a while since I’ve been down memory lane in Baton Rouge.
I have family in Louisiana, (LSU fans) in Baton Rouge and Nawlins and Metairie, La. Spent a lot of time in all 3, mostly Baton Rouge.
I probably know Baton Rouge as well as most. When I was a kid we’d eat all over the city. From Florida Blvd to places off Airline Hwy. mostly seafood.
A lot has changed there over the years, Perkins road is now a major strip and Jones Creek road (Which used to be not much) has grown. There was a road I believe called “Sherwood Forest” that went all the way to Florida BLVD. Beautiful area and upper middle class. My last trip saw it going down hill. It’s so sad. Kinda like the nice places in Jackson have really gone down.
When we’d go to LSU games we hit a place called “Chimes”, very good place. And a mom and pop place called “Dempsey’s”, the owner and his wife cared and ran it. (For you Baton Rouge people it was on Coursey Blvd). I understand they have multiple locations now. Almost forgot Brewbachers.
Anyway I could go on and on but always loved Baton Rouge. Most fun were baseball games. Their die hard baseball fans are exactly like MSU baseball fans. Just a different fan base.

Sherwood Forest
You wouldn't recognize the area now.

You should check out Chimes again next time you're in town, they built a rooftop bar.
Dempsey's is still there on Coursey and good as ever.
Brewbachers is a staple!
