I think its just stubbornness at this point. They dont want to backtrack on their decision. But man do they look stupid not playing when teams like South Alabama, Texas State, Georgia Southern, etc. are somehow managing

I think you are right about that. They jumped the gun on shutting it down, too hasty on that ,imo. No need to make that decision when they did. If there is one thing the big ten doesn't want to do - is look silly. That train left the station, they look silly for shutting it down and now they will look even more silly for starting it back up.

I remember the article in USA Today written by Christine Brennan, a big tenner I believe, about the "smart schools" shutting down football. This was right after the big ten and PAC shut it down and the other three conferences decided to play. She was lamenting about Notre Dame and several other "academic schools" electing to play, after all those are "smart schools."
