Not great. But he was an underclassman. So he still has an opportunity to improve.

We got so beat up on the line the last 2 seasons, he was a huge reason why no one asked why our OL was overrated despite going down to 3rd string at most spots.

This is so unbelievably misleading as to the quality of player that Cade Mays is

He was very solid for us. At Guard, he was great. At Tackle, he was good.

You do realize that he split starts at right guard even when our entire OL was healthy. Right?

I agree that he is a better fit at guard than tackle. It is a sizable difference between the two. But he wasn't great at guard. We lacked interior push on the interior line last season and we never pulled him.

I always give upperclassmen a nod that they can improve. I would even go as far as saying that Mays was great for an underclassman (like saying tallest midget or smartest special ed). But he left a lot of room for improvement in his film. Even at guard.
