They were just looking for any excuse to shut down. They were more worried about players unionizing or having to be given more rights while playing in a pandemic. They’d rather lose one season to try to protect the current model than see the entire model change.

Their decision to cancel made a long time ago. playing would have made some governors look like fools.
The players should be free to transfer.
