But I think it was reported when the big conference shakeups happened that one of the keys was schools had to sign away their tier 3 rights to the various conferences/conference networks.

So even if Nebraska left, BIG would still own their tier 3 rights and be able to broadcast baseball, softball, etc. and yet not have to share the revenue with NU that the content generated.
The consideration for Nebraska selling their TV rights was a share of the TV contracts. If there are no games due to the Big 10 deciding not to play, there will be no TV revenue and a resulting failure of consideration which would excuse performance by Nebraska. At least that would be the argument.
