quote:The consideration for Nebraska selling their TV rights was a share of the TV contracts. If there are no games due to the Big 10 deciding not to play, there will be no TV revenue and a resulting failure of consideration which would excuse performance by Nebraska. At least that would be the argument.
I doubt the contract is public record (although it might be). I doubt Big 10 bylaws are either.
But I think it was reported when the big conference shakeups happened that one of the keys was schools had to sign away their tier 3 rights to the various conferences/conference networks.
So even if Nebraska left, BIG would still own their tier 3 rights and be able to broadcast baseball, softball, etc. and yet not have to share the revenue with NU that the content generated.
