Some of these guys who are fat, rich and happy can basically take a year long vacation, not lose their roster spot and still earn 150k. Not a bad deal. I’d be tempted. Should create some opportunities for young, hungry players though.

You are correct but what you are in essence saying is that the 2020 NFL will more resemble the XFL or USFL this season.

Or sports and a pandemic just don't mix. Instead of champagne in the locker room this season it might look more like it was hit with a molotov cocktail.

Sports, according to the numbers that we're tracking, made a lot more sense in April, May, and June then it does going forward. And it didn't make any sense in April, May, and June.

Opting out is going to be the phrase of the fall sports.

Too bad mere mortals like us can't opt out of our jobs and not be fired. If I said I didn't feel like coming to work because I was afraid of the virus, I would be fired.

Probably just me, but I hope every player who opts out loses their contract and isn't paid this year.

In the real world you have to work to be paid.
