Well, maybe that just says something about the importance of both football programs?

I would say LSU is a tad more nationally important in the media than Auburn currently is.

Of course with 2 crystal footballs LSU is more nationally-relevant. Also, could be that the USC (University of Scratcing Crotches)adoring media see LSU as the biggest challenger to their presumptive annual favorite and Les hit a raw nerve. After last year's NC beatdown of the Big-10 champ by the SEC champ for the 2nd year in a row, there's not a whole lot that can be said in the Big-10's defense at this point.
