Downsizing the venues is smart. All indicatora point to in-person attendance taking a big hit across the board for everyone in the coming years. I think there's a very good chance everyone is going to be downsizing their stadiums within the next decade or so. TV coverage is just too high quality and too widely available for schools to keep charging the way they do for in-person attendance. Barnhart may come out looking like a genius in hindsight.

Or, more likely, he’ll look like a fool for sacrificing a basketball recruiting advantage. UK had led basketball attendance for 21 of the past 22 seasons. Now Rupp has fewer seats than the chicken bucket at UL, the TBA at UT and the Smith Dome at UNC. I seriously thought there would be an uprising by the 3,000 fans who lost their seats in Rupp. It’s hard to believe, and even harder to accept I suppose, the sea change that’s happening in college sports.
