No one ever FORCED those other Sports to NOT TURN A PROFIT, a buncha lazy arse Athl Dept Admins took the easy way out and said, "don't worry keep on losing Money, the 100 guys over here , majority Black BTW, they'll pick up the slack"
The government literally forces universities to provides athletic scholarships to women at an equal rate to men’s scholarships.
And I don’t see what football players being black has to do with any of this.
The majority of College baseball Players are white and a majority of the time baseball players are only on a quarter of a scholarship. LSU makes money on baseball and can still only provide on average fractions of a scholarship because if they gave out more they would have to give out more woman’s scholarships.

It's got a shite load to do with it, if you'd ever actually talk to a Revenue Athlete or get to know one
They might not be on track for Ivy League MBAs in Finance, but they know that 2 sports that are Majority Black raise 99% of the Money and those 2 Sports have the entire NCAA Rule Book forced on them placing the most Rules on their Sports giving them the least amount of "freedom & flexibility" among College Sports, in fact for many years a Female Athlete could transfer without having to sit out at her new school
They might have changed that for WBB in recent years
You THINK LSU makes money on Baseball, what is it $300K maybe $400K tops, it ain't like LSU Baseball is profiting $5million plus each year
The NCAA sets Baseball at 13.5 schollies or something close to that, with 1/3 schollies per player that would be a Team of 40.5 players
The LSU Baseball Coach should be able to get by with 30 players on the squad and that would be a little more than 1/3 full scholly per player
That's on LSUs Baseball Coach to not carry dead weight patronage partial schollies on the Team to keep connected Alums happy
Cut that down to 30 players and everyone gets . 45 of a full scholly
At 13.5 times a 1/4 scholly that would be 54 guys on the Baseball Team, wayyy too many
As far as the Govt forcing something ---get the lawyers involved, most folks haven't read the Law on T9, when it was first written it was about EQUAL ACCESS TO FACILITIES, i. e. If you have a weight room or gym or a baseball field, then you have to provide the same level or class facility for women's sports, but then as REVENUES EXPLODED , T9 morphed into wealth transference rather than equal access to facilities
It went from give womens Sports the same caliber of facilities as the men's sports to let's get the Black Athletes to raise Millions and then we'll transfer the money to women's sports & other sports and eliminate the burden on them from ever having to be financially viable
IMO once you have equal access to Facilities then it's up to you to create an exciting sport and generate your own revenues
IMO they need to get Lawyers involved to get T9 back to what it was intended to be, give the women equal facilities and let them sink or swim on their own
And that's why the Revenue Athletes have to get larger stipends, if they don't then the current system is racist as hell and close to modern day sharecropping
No Sport(s) should be FORCED to pay the freight for any other Sport(s)
I know , you guys just want to be entertained, to hell with all the socioeconomic and racial Politics surrounding P5 College Sports, that ship sailed when HC salaries broke the $3million mark
