All the wonks that run the university hate the athletic program and will eventually crater it.

This is definitely not true. Fuchs is a big reason we are spending hundreds of millions of dollars on facility improvements.

Yep. One of my father's siblings worked for Fuchs for years when he was at Cornell. He's a good guy and has no issues with campus athletics; quite the opposite. Have we not gotten to bring back "Move back, you suck?" Fuchs is far less a stick in the mud than Machen was.

And any of you that think this was some unilateral decision where he just woke up one morning and decided to get rid of this have no idea how universities actually work.

I don't agree with the decision and think it was a self fulfilling prophecy. I don't think really anyone, black or white, aside from a literally a few professors on campus connected these two things. I've never even heard any of the groups that represent minority views bring it up, so this was some really esoteric shite. As such, I think it was a complete overreaction by the administration. However, none of us won't think of them both now because of that press release.

That being said, I'm not going to act like Fuchs is some football hating dictator hellbent on destroying football and Florida traditions. I think he's just betting on the wrong horse here.
