He's getting an athletic scholarship, so he has the obligation to compete. People on academic scholarships don't get the option to sit out to protest. I don't get to leave my job to go protest. If he wants to sit out, then he can give up his scholarship. He's really making a sacrifice then.

Totally fair. He didn't say anything regarding Texas from being precluded in stripping his scholarship. If they want to do such, it's within their rights.

I sure hope that doesn't happen, but if Brennan was serious about this stance (I believe he deserves the benefit of the doubt to be considered serious about it) then hopefully he understands the potential repercussions.
