Curry was such a fine coach that a 1-7 UK football team upon hearing that he got fired were so happy they beat Georgia, Mississippi State and Vandy in a a row. I worked with one of the ex-players on that team and he said the coaches finally left them alone and they didn't have to listen to Curry's motivational speeches any more. The team relaxed and played football for the first time that season. He kept changing O.C.'s like you change underwear. The recruiting fit the former system. They went from a pro set to an I-bone with the wrong players. The moron had Tim Couch running an option. Just a total mismatch of talent and scheme. Curry was a good guy, just a bad coach. He was straight as an arrow and had he hired a Hal Mumme type as his OC would have done well. He'd have kept Mumme straight and Mumme would show him what an offense looked like. Bama fans knew a dog when they had one. It took us a while to figure it out.
