You must understand that Clemson is new to being competitive in football. Prior to this recent run that just ended in January for good, they had one claimed NC, 1981, in which their idolized coach, Coach Danny, cheated and had them placed on probation. He subsequently abandoned Clemson and upgraded to Arkansas to call the hogs. You must be gentle with their psyche as most have never left the state of SC.

Thanks BG, for the early Clemson Danny Ford Cheating scandal reminder!

Their current coach is a cheater too! Everybody (Elephants too) forgot Dabo was a Greek at Bama and an Assistant when his head coach DuBose got caught and put the Tide on Probation a second time in the late 90’s after the first Probation in the early 90’s over the ALBERT MEANS incident with that booster WE WONT MENTION HIS NAME (Baby Bear’s Palsie Walsie). Poor Dabo got fired with DuBose. boosters gave dabo a cushy real estate job to stop his squawking

Never heard this before. Looks like it was a strength coach, and "months" of unemployment had passed in between.

quote:

Months passed, Swinney still unemployed, and one day his phone rang. Rich Wingo, who had been Alabama’s strength coach while Swinney was a player, was now running a real estate development business called AIG Baker. It built shopping centers all over the country, and the firm was expanding. Wingo wanted Swinney, an optimist never intimidated by hard work, to join him. Swinney insisted that he belonged on a sideline, aware and in pursuit of his calling. Wingo reminded him that a coach without a team is just a man out of work.

How about this, Wingo told him: Give it a year, see how it goes, and learn the property business. While he untangled his future he’d earn an $80,000 base salary plus bonuses. Swinney, 31 at the time, remembered how hard it is to say no to his strength coach.

Dabo Swinney was the best shopping center leasing agent in Alabama
