quote:

Speaking out and posting on social media is important

False.

All that does is make YOU feel better and possibly con people into lavishing praise for how "enlightened" and "woke" you are.

I’d bet Coach Buzz partially agrees with you (though he’s a social media using fool!).
The remainder of that particular sentence you reference infers as much.

That said, the generation behind us (and the one after them) communicates almost exclusively via social media.
As much as I loathe it, kids and young adults subsist on it.

We’ve been accused of being racist, homophobic, and misogynistic for our entire existence.
I think our folks tend to be a little more reactive, as a result.

The more of these that are released, the more this begins to look like rich white guys desperately trying to protect their relationships with the kids largely responsible for their fortunes.

I’m as cynical as the next person.
But I think it’s more an issue of coaches wanting to support their players—at all universities—and not knowing exactly what else to do.

I think they very much care about their kids. Which I’d guess is why they are more than likely painfully aware of the imbalance of power. It’s not so much a knock on Buzz or anyone else so much as the system.

I am all for "change" to rid us of racism, as long as "change" does not include the confiscation, ownership, and control of the means of production and distribution, by government.

If goal is that kind of "change" proposed, you can count me out.

In fact, I should probably add that I think Buzz is towards the top of the list of guys you’d want your son playing for.

The Political Talk board may be a better source?
Undoubtedly you’ll find multiple opinions there.
Godspeed, friend.
