You don’t know that. Plus no one is taking into account what’s happening to other “lives”

It will be interesting to see if this “cure” actually was worse than a different tactic

Impossible to know but “Less disease = less death” is a reasonable prediction.

You’re advocating for a slow painful death that turns our country into a 3rd world wasteland and ends up with more deaths due to the same amount of people eventually getting Covid and suicide and malnutrition Great Depression style deaths skyrocketing instead of a quick herd immunity that kills the same amount of covid people and eliminates the country going into a depression that will change the lives of your grandkids.

I don’t know if that’s true. The only way this makes any sense is if a vaccine comes soon

Which it won’t. It might not ever come. Everyone will catch this. People need to realize it. So the people that are going to die from it are going to die now or later this year. Or next year

As every day goes by I really wonder if it’s worth ruining the lives of the people who are actually living. I’m not saying I’m right. I get where everyone is coming from

I think history is going to tell that this was a stupid tactic that made this worse than it actually is. Way worse

But it’s not “less disease”— as soon as people get back out the numbers will
Spike up again. “Flattening the curve” was always supposed to be about spacing out the number of people in the hospital and not overwhelming the system. But if the vaccine doesn’t get out till next year (and their is no guarantee the vaccine will be the panacea, heck the flu shot is what maybe 50/50 for preventing the type of flu that season), and SIP is already being loosened— of course the numbers will spike again and deaths (somewhere between .05 and .1%) will occur.

What we should have done is the Swedish model. We would have had similar results to the infection rate while helping to achieve herd immunity in a much more efficient time.
