How accurate is the Offers List on 24/7?

Just curious how accurate the list of schools that have offered a recruit is. Where does the info come from? The recruit?
Exhibit A
For example this ole miss commit is unranked yet shows he has offers from UGA, Auburn, A&M, State, etc. Doesn’t make sense.

They may have an "offer" but probably not a commitable.
A school might say "We would love for you to come play for us, but we have to hold off. We can only take 3 WRs this class and we have a lot of offers out there right now."
So, technically they have an offer, but if they tried to commit the school would tell them no, or to hold off until the picture becomes clearer. It's not unusual for a school to throw out 200-300 offers out there in a single recruiting period. Some are commitable, some are not, and some might become commitable later in the recruiting season.

That’s why recruiting rankings change throughout the year

It’s all self reported so nobody actually knows anything

The recruit tells one of the reporters who covers a particular school. Reporter then updates recruit's profile to show offer from said school. No way to know if the kid is making it up, if it's a "come to camp" offer or a legit committable offer.

Google the name Blake Carringer if you want a good laugh and learn how silly the whole ranking and offer charade is.

Wow what a joke. A fictional 5 star

100% Accurate if they commit to the school you follow
0% Accurate if they don't commit to the school you follow
0% Accurate if they don't commit to the school you follow

MJ Daniels the player that was linked was rated as a high 3 star since the original post.
The offers seem feasible as well. Several coaches with MS connections.
UGA -Matt Luke
Auburn -Wesley McGriff
State -MS player
IU -Grant Heard
A&M -They like men
