Not surre if you’re aware:

After LSU’s national championship season in which they hit 100 team dingers using Easton’s Stealth model baseball bat, bbcor bats were mandated in high school and college. The new bbcor bat produces pop similar to a wooden bat which aides in player as well as spectator safety but really sucks when trying to mash the ball

A state commit hit a 500 foot NUKE in the Marlin’s stadium when he was 15. Wooden bat.

100 team dingers

That’s like 90% less than we hit in 1997

And then LSU's Director of Athletic Training changed the MLB forever.

11 years ago is a long time. Sounds like LSU needs a coaching change.

Can’t stay mediocre in baseball forever.

Good thing for us is that unlike most of your teams, we can turn it around really quickly

LSU baseball is today where LSU football was in 2016.

Wildly irrelevant? In the middle of a near decade long championshipless run?

I’m sure he did. He’s been compared by a few to Harper. State can claim him as a commit, and he is, but he’ll never step foot on campus. He doesn’t have true position projection at the MLB level as of now, but his bat will have him gone early in the 1st round. He’s in the top 3 ranked HS players in the country in nearly every list I’ve seen.

Im sure he's a great player and destined for the big leagues but 500ft with a wooden bat at 15? I doubt it.

The bats in college weren't changed until after 2010, Auburn led the NCAA in homers that year

I looked. Couldnt find it. Theres also no mention of him hitting 500ft with a wood. The videos on youtube I can see he's using a drop 5 voodoo and the more recent ones he has a non compliant xl1 in his hands. Thats a hot bat. Im not hating, kids got raw power, definitely a top 5 pick. But hitting 500ft bombs with wood at 15 seems like a bit of folklore. Need to see it to believe it.
