Growing up in STL it was all Redbirds. You could usually count on a Sunday afternoon telecast on KSD-TV; but during the rest of the week, television coverage was pretty sparse and if they were in town forget about it.
So we generally got our baseball from the 50 billion watt (actually 50,000 watt) powerhouse KMOX. To this day it is credited with the fairly large dispersion of Cardinal fans across the country (at least in the senior set).

It was called Clear Channel stations (not the current media group), you'd have a powerful radio transmitter and nobody else on that channel. They cranked it up higher at night, too.
