This is all about limiting the number of individuals that come to the hospital at the same time. Let me explain it in a way you might understand..
Bama had 700,000 people attend football games in tuscaloosa. Now imagine they all showed up at the same weekend. Same goes for this, we must postpone and level out the peaks to ensure we save as many lives as possible.
The Flu is a known quantity and is not a spike of millions of people at once.
