Exactly as President Obama was under a vicious attack from Republicans and Fox (not to mention extreme alt-right outlets) from day 1 of his administration.

Wait....so FOX news equals NY Times, LA Times, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, etc?

Would you mind pointing out which of the conservatives and/or FOX News called for Obama to be impeached a month or so after being sworn in? I must have missed that.

Jan. 30, 2017: Days after President Trump takes office, attorney Mark Zaid tweets that a “coup has started” and “impeachment will follow ultimately.” Zaid often deals with government investigations and clients in the intelligence community.

A few months later, still in 2017, Zaid tweets: “I predict @CNN will play a key role in @realDonaldTrump not finishing out his full term as president” and “We will get rid of him, and this country is strong enough to survive even him and his supporters.” Zaid also tweets that “as one falls, two more will take their place” and the “coup” would occur in “many steps.”

Why would they? Obama had done nothing worthy of impeachment.

Trump's already done more worthy of impeachment than Nixon. The only difference is that 40 years ago, we lived in a different world. Trump is able to flaunt norms and maintain the belief that he is above the law because he has no one in his party with the cajones to challenge him. If he had to deal with independent minded, patriotic Republicans like Nixon did - people who valued the law and our institutions above one person or party - Trump would already be gone.

Can you imagine any past President getting away with routinely funneling business, including government meetings, to hotels and resorts that he personally owns? Talk about violation of the emoluments clause.

The level of enabling and excuse-making is mind-boggling.
