There was plenty of talent on that roster last year. A lot of it was young, however, due to injuries. And while injuries can be attributed to bad luck, I still feel like Cochran's failing S&C program had something to do with them.

Our starting MLB last year was way too slow to play the position and part of that was because he was too jacked. That's on Cochran.

Not nearly as much as there was circa 2012-2017. There wasn’t anybody out there who you looked at and said, “that dude is a future all-pro” like there almost always were in the past.

A bigger part of that is that they didn’t recruit a faster player to play that spot. Wasn’t Alabama’s starting MLB a true freshman?
