Yep. He replaced him in the 2nd half of the national title game and never relinquished the position back to Hurts, though Hurts was SEC freshman of the year and SEC offensive player of the year the previous season. Hurts was a very good quarterback. He just wasn't as elite as Tua was from his freshman year.
Meanwhile, Joe Burrow couldn't start at Ohio State. He had to transfer, like Hurts.
