i'd be shocked if they allowed an extra year...that would screw things up even more than just saying "sorry folks. COVID got you" then move on

It’s going to be a crap show either way. Either you deny an extra year and get a ton of kickback about guys not getting their last year to prove themselves worthy of the NFL. Or you have to grant an extra year and basically throw scholarship limits out the window for a year and then jack up half of a draft class. The only people that would forgo the extra year would be guys that are sure to be drafted in an earlier round.

why? The NCAA did that with spring sports athletes.

Well they did it for the Spring sports. They have set precedent where they almost have to do it for Fall sports. Then again this is the NCAA so they'll probably say F precedent.
