The SEC delivers more money yearly. The B10 required a buy-in to their network which would have been about $50 million that the SEC gave up freely. Just guessing on the $50 million.
The B10 didn't make an offer. Can't move to a conference who doesn't ask. Mizzou would NEVER leave the SEC.
Basketball might be lesser in the SEC but Mizzou is shooting itself in the foot on that. Kentucky has no problem winning, Florida has won more basketball national championships in the last 20 years than the entire B12 combined plus matched the entire B10 combined.

If nothing changes then the SEC will payout more starting in 2023 because of the new "game of the week" contract that CBS backed out of.
But up until then, the Big 10 pays more to its schools. The new ACC network prevents the SEC from expanding in the east, so I'm predicting the Big 10 will expand in the midwest markets (STL, KC, Denver, OKC) and Fox will be really applying pressure on ESPN.
