So, you think that the transfer portal is the reason why Wake Forest can't compete with the top tier programs in football? Come on now man, Wake Forest wouldn't be relevant with or without Newman and the portal being there. This is the exact reason why I believe they need to create another division of fcs football. The programs that honestly have no chance at ever playing for a title in fbs can have their own division, with other programs like them and compete in a more evenly matched league than they're in right now. That's the only way to fix this. They need to split the fbs into 2 divisions and match the elite teams with other elite programs and the ones like Wake Forest etc need to be competing against other programs like themselves.

Instead of schools like Wake losing their star player, how about using the portal to add a few pieces to make them more competitive? That's not happening. That's what I thought the portal would bring to the cfb landscape.
