I thought Reagan was miserable the one time I went there.
I used to fly through Philly a lot during college and it was awful. May be better now. However, I spent about 1/3 of the year last year flying through Reagan and I love that place. I could leave the client site where I'd get to DCA maybe 30 min before my flight left and I'd be totally fine. Took me all of 2-5 min to get through security and on to the plane.
I am a huge fan of DCA

Reagan is supposed to be superior to Dulles because all the officials and diplomats go through Reagan. A few years ago I got stuck on the tarmac for hours, departing dulles, a line of storms ground stop, and when ground stop was lifted, our captain said we had to wait another hour while all the important people flying out of Reagan got airborne.
