Dude........I was born and raised in OK. Don't test me.

Let me throw you a lifeline so you can stop making a damn fool of yourself.

Geographically:
Oklahomans are the Great Plainsmen. We are part of the Great Plains, which is one of the largest geographical areas in the world. I posted a map for your educational purposes. We are not "the south", geographically.

Culturally:
OK was opened for settlement in 1889 by the federal government. As opportunity would suggest at the time, in 1889, farmers and ranchers from AR, MS, and LA were the majority of settlers that showed up to settle unlimited free land to raise their crops and cattle. They brought their culture with them. It exists to this very day.

SO.....yeah.....you'll run into many Okies that have a southern mentality because culturally they are, and always have been. Most of us are descended from that, myself included. My deceased father's family came up from LA. My mother's side were well-to-do cattle ranchers that came in from elsewhere of German heritage.

Summary: The Midwest is OH, IL, WI, MN, MI, MO, IN, and IA. That's it. That's the American Midwest. Missouri is the Midwest's furthest southern border. Always has been. OK is not, and never will be, part of the Midwest.

Oklahoma, geographically speaking, is part of the Great Plains. We are the Plainsmen. We were settled primarily by southerners from the old south. They brought their culture with them, as I said, and it exists to this very day.
