Dallas downtown and near downtown used to suck and not its pretty great. San Antonio the same. Larger cities go through these trends. I'd bet on Austin becoming more livable before I'd bet on most smaller towns in Texas.

Serious infrastructure help
Ditto the APD and Travis County leadership
Panhandler enforcement
“I’m from Chicago” bumper sticker ilk to go away
Parking. Parking. Parking.
Taxi monopoly to die
Extremely freakish liberals to ... become aware
Out of control homelessness addressed
World class traffic ... will never disappear
Pollution. Ugh.
Affordable housing, compared to the far better abodes all over Texas
Lousy schools in AISD to adjust
Nutty politicians to tune into PBS and stay there
Run out the freaks
It makes me sad.
I’m a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and have deep roots in the Austin area.
But you couldn’t pay me to raise a family there.
