UGA reportedly still wants him, so I doubt they void the LOI over bombing the ACT. I recall Pickens having more grade issues than Evans, but maybe Evans' circus of a recruitment was to cover up his grade issues.

Georgia's gonna have to work to keep this kid if they want him.

From the National Letter of Intent website:

quote:

You should sign your NLI in duplicate. Once you have signed it twice, retain one copy of the signed NLI for your records. You should send the other copy back to the institution. When the institution receives it, they are responsible for forwarding a copy to their conference office. The institution must file your NLI with its conference within 14 days after the date of final signature. If this filing deadline is not met, the letter will be declared invalid.

Did Georgia file the NLI with the conference...doesn't appear that they did. We'd all know it.

So, if the NLI became invalid, then Evans is trying to get "coaches to see him as a good kid that made a mistake" (UA Game interview). His recruitment may be open. Maybe his plea was just to Georgia, who knows.

Except we know UGA has his LOI. He's said it and every 247 mod has reported it. Why would UGA sit on it? If he doesn't end up at UGA I hope he goes to a&m so UGA won't have to play him. Kid is insanely talented and UGA won't go to College Station for a while.

Why would we all know it? We have several players that are announcing at the All American bowls that have signed but not announced.

Kellee Ringo, Darnell Washington and Evans for three.

Washington announced last night and Ringo expected tomorrow. Nobody can say for sure, but that si the way it looks.
