frick everything any Arkansas media has to say.

Honestly I think Lunney leaving is great for him. He needs to get a bigger set of coaching friends.

Maybe he can come in later, but he would have been a Chad, in that he seems to only have ties to retreads that have been on board with him.

we ended up in a what's best situation. I hope lunney continues to progress and do well. perhaps in a few years we will call upon him but I'd like to see him excel st beingbnboc and then maybe hc or big time PC position to get inside more coaching circles

Agreed.

I like Lunney, but if given the choice between Lunney and Pittman, I'd choose Pittman with little hesitation, and that's not myopia or being prisoner of the moment.

Pittman has had the longer career, has worked under numerous coaches and in several different systems and programs, is a better and more well established recruiter, and has more contacts in the coaching world from which to assemble a staff.

The last callout is the most important for a career assistant making the jump to HC, and it was arguably the biggest reason why Morris failed miserably. Being just a few years removed from coaching in high school, his coaching contacts were minuscule, hence getting an offensive staff littered with guys a few years removed from being GA's and a defensive staff full of retreads looking for one last pre-retirement paycheck.

Since Lunney is looking to move his career along, the natural next step was for him to branch out to build his resume and network.
