We have put to much weight on kids like what happen to davis after freshmen yr.
He has never been the same.
92 and 48 put on to much as well as Chris allen.
Other than moses no other Lb has the burst that keho has until harris arrived this yr.
But truth be told Golding sent harris twice today up the run gaps and he made plays in the backfired on those Mich counter runs.
Our Lb have been sitting ducks all yr as we are not attacking .
It very simple to understand that a 3-4 does not work without a dominate nose or make up for that by sending lb up run gaps.
This means the DE play to keep it on inside shoulder.
It also means more man in secondary were carter was weak run surport early on and Mayden was to slow.

Werl i dont think we want to run a 3-4. Look like we switched to it to stop the run. Craxy that we had to play Jennings standing up in middle of the defense. I agree tho we do put to much weight on our guys it seems. Seems to work for us tho.

Bama hasn't run that style of 3-4 since the end of the 2013 season. We've played 2-gap technique up front since 2014, which doesn't need a dominant NT to function.

I think that's spot on; when we had Payne and Williams at NT it was hard to run on us. I think a healthy Dale next year will improve our run D as well; while our run D was mediocre /subpar this year, it got worse when Dale went down...
