Please explain this one . . . both systems are owned by the state . . .the UT System give nothing . . . .it receives as does the A&M system. Longhorn affiliated state politicians have gone out of its way historically to squelch funding for other institutions around Texas which has resulted in a very lopsided division of things like the Permanent University Fund.
And the "Flagship" thing is tired tripe from the 1970s . . . UT administrators going back decades refer to A&M as one of the flagship institutions in the state. I know it is a sick burn in your head but it hasn't made sense since the Carter Administration.
