Meh

Now do it by average per player rating.

Then share how many signees are in a class.

The metric you're attempting to push to bolster A&M is understandable, but arbitrary and inconsequential in the overall scheme of things.

Signing 25 gives you a higher number than signing 19, or 21, of course.

Per player average is more important.

Also, sooner or later recruiting services are going to have to figure out a way to rate kickers. Kickers have become as much a part of the game .... offense, defense, special teams. It's past time to start rating kickers appropriately.

You can sign the #1 punter and #1 kicker in the nation and be penalized on your ratings.

Avg rating is actually the worst way to look at it. If you want want to consider avg rating of your class vs another teams you can only compare your guys vs the other teams top however many guys you have.

You have to get credit for everyone.

Kickers are less important now than they have ever been. Teams are more likely to go for it on fourth down these days than at any time in the past, and as the average points total of games climbs higher and higher, the impact of an individual field goal on the outcome grows less and less. I mean, shite, look at my team as a good example. The most dominant dynasty in recent history has also had probably the worst run of field goal kickers of any team in the country over the past ten years, and it really hasn’t mattered at all.

This is an excellent point. Position weight (in terms of a coefficient) in recruiting services should match position weight on a team through the season. Good or bad kickers impact the game and season bigly.

I mean LSU signs long snappers every 3 to 4 years. It's a very important role. We never have trouble with the long snapper because the coaches put a focus on the position. But recruiting services seem to always give long snappers 2 stars.
