That's sad that a bunch of grown men fan boys influenced his decision so much that he felt like he would be letting people down if he left Columbia. Can't see what's best for the kid and want him in Columbia smh

Explain how going to SC is a bad decision, please?
Kids get drafted from Akron, Forth valley State and a number of small schools. Do you realize where Jerry Rice went to school? If he has talent the pros will see him. The biggest reason kids should go to Clemson, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State etc is if they want to be in the running for the playoffs and a shot at a NC. That is not necessarily the driving force for a lot of kids. He would rather be happy and close to family. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Sure Clemson would have liked to have signed Burch but Clemson didn’t do too shabby signing day. You’re not going to sign every kid out there. Steve was right. Kid is going to Carolina and probably have a good three years and get drafted high. More power to him.

Clemson had a monster signing day. Especially along the DLine. I was so jealous of that haul.

ETA
I was directing my other posts mainly at cyclingout and some of the LSU fans. they seem to be genuinely upset.

Just hope they pan out. All of us had our schools sign a kid and then for whatever reason it don’t work out.

I was looking at our #1 class we had a couple of years ago, and while most hit, I saw several that we thought were going to be monsters that still haven't panned out. It happens sometimes. That's why you sign a lot of great classes to make the odds go up.

That is what Clemson has done so well for so many years. Y'all did sign great classes until recently, but you developed the players so well and had a high hit rate on lower rated players.

Clemson has been fortunate in that they have signed the right players

That is the key. not getting the highest rated players, but getting high rated players that fit with your philosophy. There is a lot I admire about the way Clemson does things.

Well here is the thing about the ratings. You got to have players but these services and writers don’t know how Dabo, Saban or Kirby are exactly planning on how they are going use these kids. Kid may be a 4 star but the way he is going to be used in college may make him a 5 star at Bama or Clemson

If that make sense

That’s not true. He just really wants to go to LSU but his mean old mom won’t let him. He’s waiting til the last second to sign with LSU so he can immediately move to Baton Rouge before his awful mother kicks him out of the house.

Signed,

Some LSU fans

Or he can sign with SC and they can win 5 games next year instead of 4.
See how childish that sounds?

It happens a lot. Look at the NFL draft. They're drafting players who had success in college and still most draftees don't work out. High school to college is an even bigger crapshoot. More players who aren't scouted by as many real scouts. Level of competition, being away from home or never adjust to being another fish in the sea. Many reasons highly rated guys don't make it. It's the qb position that kills a team faster than any other though.

Oh right, I forgot that you must be on a team that has won at least 10 games in order to be drafted in the 1st round.

I can’t be held responsible for every fricktard that make threads here

Even i cringe at some of the shite bandwagon LSU fans say here.
But I’ve said before. Many of these moronic threads are started by posters I’ve never heard of and have never seen post before. And I’ve been here a long time. It’s like a sleeper cell of stupidity that has suddenly been activated
